Να και το ποιο μικρό "και ποιο προσιτο" R4 2.0L TFSi 300 αλογάκια... κάτι ανάμεσα απο ΤΤ και R8... ίσως?

Many believed talk of AudiΆs future mid-engined Cayman rival was pure fantasy but then details about the carmakerΆs future lineup were published by Quattro Quarterly (a publication released by the Audi Club of North America) and one of the cars on that list was in fact the long rumored R4. Set to appear in June 2011, the new R4 will get its own unique platform and will likely appear in both coupe and roadster bodystyles.

Like the R8, the new R4 will feature aggressive styling and will only be able to seat two. Several engine options will be on offer as this wonΆt be an exclusive supercar like its bigger brother. Expect to see a range-topping model with a high-output turbocharged mill developing in excess of 300hp. Base models, meanwhile, will make do with an uprated version of the 2.0L TFSI engine.

As this rendering suggests, the R4 will pick up some styling cues from the recent A1 Metroproject concept car as well as share many similarities with the bigger R8. Although it doesnΆt have the familiar side-blades, the R4 still features a pair of gaping vents positioned in front of the rear wheels. The chassis will feature steel construction but engineers are targeting a final kerb weight of around 1,250kg, and although the mid-engined Boxster and Cayman seem like the most obvious competitors Audi officials insist the new car is designed to rival vehicles from BMWΆs M division and AMG.

Ωραίο φαίνεται. Αν και αυτό που περιμένω να δω πως και πως είναι το Α5 Sportsback.

Σίγουρα θα θυμάσαι τα video που έδειχναν ένα πρωτότυπο Audi να κατεβαίνει από τα ουράνια κάπου στις Αυστριακές ¶λπεις ώστε να γυριστεί ένα διαφημιστικό video. Όπως ήταν φυσικό, από εκείνη την ημέρα, εκτός από video κυκλοφόρησαν και φωτογραφίες που δείχνουν έστω και λίγο καθαρότερα, το νέο δημιούργημα των ανθρώπων εκεί στο Ingolstadt.

Το αυτοκίνητο φαίνεται ότι είναι βασισμένο πάνω στο Audi e-tron και έχει αρκετά κοινά χαρακτηριστικά με το e-tron concept, ενώ έχουν προστεθεί αρκετά νέα στοιχεία, τα οποία αφήνουν πίσω την ακραία σχεδιαστική γραμμή του πρωτότυπου, και ακολουθούν μια πιο παραδοσιακή γραμμή, που μπορείς να την πεις και γραμμή παραγωγής. Τα μπροστά φωτιστικά σώματα λοιπόν έχουν νέα σχεδίαση και θυμίζουν κάτι ανάμεσα σε A1 και e-tron ενώ και το μπροστά spoiler έχει δεχτεί και αυτό μερικές αλλαγές. Οι ζάντες είναι 7-κτινες όπου από πίσω κρύβονται τα θηριώδη φρένα με κόκκινες δαγκάνες.

Το Audi R4 αναμένεται να κάνει την εμφάνιση του σε λίγες ημέρες στο σαλόνι του Παρισιού με τις φήμες να θέλουν την Audi να παρουσιάζει τόσο την Coupe όσο και την Spyder έκδοση. Είμαι πολύ περίεργος να δω τι έχουνε δημιουργήσει ξανά εκεί στη Γερμανία. Φωτογραφίες και video στη συνέχεια.
